Born in Scarborough, Ontario in 1979, Jagmeet Singh is a Canadian politician and the leader of the New Democratic Party (NDP). His parents immigrated to Canada from Punjab, India and ran a small clothing business. Growing up, Singh faced discrimination and bullying due to his Sikh identity. However, he channeled this adversity into motivation, becoming a successful lawyer and then a politician.
